Yusuf

Yusuf, seven years old responsible big brother who is a solid shield of his 5 years old sister.

Bhura and Haseena came to Ghaziabad from a very remote place, with a dream of an easier and dignified life. Bhura is illiterate. He has tried his hand on different things like working as a labourer, pulling rikshaw, helping in a cycle repair shop. But none of these have helped him to fulfill his dreams. They are living in sub-human conditions in slums in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad with many more migrants like them. They have three daughters and one son (Yusuf).

Bhura and Haseena failed to send their children to school because of poverty and inability to think beyond making two ends meet.

From time to time we go to different slum areas to motivate people to send their children to schools. During one of such drives, we found one physically very weak handicapped child dressed in dirty rags, sitting in front of a broken hut. The little boy was offering his share of bread piece to his younger sister. It was a heart touching scene. We got into a conversation with their mother Haseena who was sitting close by on a cot. During conversation we learnt that she was not sending her children to school.

We told her that we provide totally free education to children coming to us including free books, notebooks, dresses, medical facilities and even refreshments every day.

Somehow Yusuf’s parents agreed to send him to our school.  He is now studying with us for the last one year. He is very bright child. We are sure, with the help from the society he can be very successful individual. God knows tomorrow he may become a great doctor or an engineer or a scientist.

Extend your hand to help the under-privileged by contributing towards the noble cause of giving a better life to children like Yusuf.
