During the last six months our school has embarked on paths not trodden by us so far. While not compromising on academics, the school started skill training for the senior students. Under this program thirty girls have been trained to apply Mehendi. It is heartening to see that some of them make some money during festival seasons as well as when people have functions at their homes.
With help from Rotary Club, our students are learning to make bags and then do stamp printing on them. These bags have been gifted to dignitaries visiting the school and have earned great appreciation. Further, our students prepared Rekhis and gifted them to guests and teachers
Another important activity undertaken is of candle making. Few hundred candles have been manufactured by our students in different colours and sizes.
The school has received a water cooler as a gift. Children enjoyed cool RO water this hot season.
The school has installed Internet and Television which will be used for showing good movies, moral values videos and academics.
Recently four new Dell computers have been added to impart computer training to students.
The strength in our school has touched 200. Soon we may introduce 2nd shift.
The promoters and teachers are looking at various other activities in the school that benefits all. A new initiative is to encourage students to collect and bring plastic/polythene from homes and nearby areas. The plastic is then given to IPCA for recycling. This way plastics are kept away from landfills, animals, water bodies and drains etc. The school has minimised use of plastic.
